Traditional Literature for Children

No activism.
No agendas.
Just good stories.

It's time for some TLC

Welcome to Traditional Literature for Children (TLC), an online space where writers and illustrators sharing traditional, Judeo-Christian values can gather, critique one another’s stories, and contribute to creative, normative ideas.

TLC is our response to “wokeness,” which has infiltrated, and perhaps co-opted, the children’s-book publishing world. So-called woke is driving its sexual, political, racist, and other radical content into books for toddlers and young children.

This is unacceptable.

TLC’s goal is to treat, entertain, and educate kids the way they once were: with protective and loving care. We are the place for stories focusing on wonder, imagination, a love of learning, kindness, and traditional moral behavior.

It is not the forum for stories in which “gender identity” is questioned, sexuality is addressed, activism is encouraged, or racist views are proffered. Nor is it the place for books about a writer’s or illustrator’s private life, e.g., his or her race or sexual preferences. The children’s book market is heavily weighted by other organizations seeking such material and discussion.

To writers: Your story does need a religious tone or theme to be represented on this forum. It must be, however, wholesome, family-oriented, and innocent – appropriate for children. To those authors, illustrators, agents, and publishers who are like-minded, we sincerely welcome you, and look forward to your work and ideas. Together, by meeting TLC’s goal of treating children with traditional, protective, and loving care, we can make a difference in their lives, and perhaps our own.
