Confidentiality Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Trust is at the center of TLC Forum — especially when it comes to unpublished manuscripts and personal information. This policy explains how we protect confidential information shared with us.

Manuscripts and critique group content

Manuscripts, illustrations, and comments submitted to a critique group are visible only to members of that specific group. TLC does not claim ownership of your work, does not share it outside the group, and does not use it to train any AI system. Group members agree, as a condition of participating, not to share another member's unpublished work outside the group without permission (see our Code of Conduct).

Member and donor information

We keep member account details, donor information, and payment records confidential, accessible only to TLC staff and volunteers who need it to run the organization (for example, to fulfill a membership benefit or issue a tax receipt). We do not sell or rent member or donor information. Donors who wish to remain anonymous in any public acknowledgment may request that when giving.

Staff and volunteer access

TLC staff and volunteers with access to confidential information — including critique group content or donor records — are expected to keep it confidential and to access it only as needed to fulfill their role.

Third-party service providers

We rely on Stripe, Supabase, and Resend to operate TLC Forum (see our Privacy Policy for details). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality commitments.
